Sad Dizain

NIGHT OF HUNGER In broken words she sang him lullaby, And tried to comfort him but he still cried, He could not sleep with wet eyes and lips dry, New night of hunger, for them had arrived, And she no more could hide her tears and wiped, Fate left her wander in deserted street, Troubled by hunger and tortured by heat, Homeless she was, after her husband's death, She smiled, held her child close to her heartbeat, While both counted stars, waited for last breath. May 16, 2016. Sad Poem-Dizain - Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Laura Loo Ten lines of 10 syllables each line rhyme scheme: A-B-A-B-B-C-C-D-C-D Total# of words 82

Nicely written... So sad to think of a mother and child so young in so much desperation... I know it's out there too. Congrats on your placement.
