Sacred Ring

A ring of mushrooms
in the marsh looms.

Maiden fairies in their best blooms.
Decked out to meet the male fairy grooms.

A dance each is taught
they never will tell if caught.

No not ever a word they dare not
lest anyone finds the whole lot.

Heritage is their delight
never do they take it so light.

Dancing around the sacred ring
songs of long ago they sing.

On crystal light wing
swinging in each other’s wreath of ling.

Delight and joy each fairy does bring
as they remain in the mushroom ring.
