Sacred Precious Art

In silent rooms our eyes exchange sad looks.
We quickly glance away from awkwardness.
But in that moment we’ve said more than books,
unsure of what this life has offered us.

Cheers and shouts in times of celebration,
we jump and hug, yet I don’t know your name.
At times it seems we’re one congregation.
In joy united, we all feel the same.

Though in this world we sing different songs,
of sorrow and bliss, all will have a share.
And though it’s true we suffer many wrongs,
they leave with us jewels dazzling and rare.

Within us there is sacred, precious art.
The hidden splendor of each human heart!
