Sacred Heart
the sun had set in me again
through the infinite structures
i'd been exposed to her beauty
with the finite findings
she'd bestowed in me a silence
that weathered beneath
the brillant glow shunned by darkness
as her rays opened within me
my heart on fire
burning every vessel
catering to the outward action
i'd become to know while watching
the four o'clock flowers open
during mass closing
at the onset of the evening shade
with a multitude of serenity
she'd given me solace
a sheer reigning of sorrows
the planting of grace
a gathering of stille peace
i'd longed for patiently i sat
in abode waiting her return
day's for her were years for me
i stood there again
while the trees in the forest
began to weep kneel and pray
my soul leaped
as night covered day
for just one glance
she'd returned kneeling
amidst my suffering
opening the darkness again
