S T I L L
arteries clogged, caught in a shadow box
like a mime; minding my business is hard.
mining out creativity and treasures blocked.
can’t breathe, parenthesis only lets out hot air.
i can’t let down my hair. pushing against the arms
that squeeze. submarine won’t let me rise.
bone tired of the lack of motivation. evacuation
of energy and nutrition. enemy prowling, scrapping
together incorrigible snacks and time restraints.
s t i l l, hope’s pump primed. s t i l l, faith on the rise.
s t i l l, I’m captivated by my Savior. s t i l l, I survive.
~ ~ ~
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed;
perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not
abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We
always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that
the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
2 Corinthian 4:8-10
