S I L K By Free Cee

on the swings the silk clung
clung to the tenderness of when she was young
until she became somene else's someone
a disenchanted mother with an unappreciative son

silken flesh fashioned from a loom gentle as her hands
gentility only a seraphim understands
then came rebellion and a will with a course set for destruction'
and damnable destitution

that silk waved in the wind like T.B. sheets
hanging in a place where gentility and genuineness meets
a reminder of when time didn't fly by so fast
and when i wanted to believe love is actually able to last

but no one can rationalize an irractional act
and this lady once had class, talent and tact
but then came her final tomorrow in a horrendous way
and i kneel now planting a flag of silk near her headstone today

Jeffry, this is beautiful. A tragic ending, but a beautiful poem. Kim
