Yes Annelise, Sequia Sempervirens aka Coastal Redwoods.Coastal redwoods are presently amongst the tallest trees rooted in our mother's rich (epidermis) loam. Summer of 2006 a few odd ecentric types, fanatics you could say, formed a very unique team of 'tree lovers' and or adventures and they took a contigent from The National Geographic Society to a tree in Humbolt county here in California (of course) that they had located. It was for the record officially measured. It topped out at 115.55 meters; it was then named 'Hyperian'. Great book about this written by Richard Preston, 'WILD TREES'.
