Rythm

I’ll strap myself to undertow
Hide my eyes and fall below
Sing for lives the current takes
I can’t drown now I’m awake

The rhythm tells me where to go
It shows me things I could not know
A language taught within my soul
Helps me breathe down in this hole

A turning sky that knows its place
An echoed silence with no face
Time distorts the length and pace
I decline to live this way

Now I’m here it’s live or die
I know what’s real, yet I deny
The shadows pull me into lies
The dreams that burn me must realise

I walk away from silent angels
To justify can’t make me able
To walk alone and be my own
I must not fear what rhythm’s shown
