Rx For a Joy Filled Day

**********
Attitude determines our entire day.
Belief in a Higher Power eases the way.
Confidence is strength shining within.
Desire to do our best, is a sure win.
Empathy for others, showcases our soul.
Fortitude, never giving in, is our goal.
Gratitude is an auspicious habit to seek.
Haughtiness is a sure sign of the weak.
Intelligence, be so very glad we have it.
Joy in being alive, a great, blessed habit.
Kindness, yes, show it to one and to all.
Love, share it and have a ball!
Mellowness is a welcome call.
Neighborliness goes a very long way.
Overlooking flaws in others can make your day.
Participation is far better than holding back.
Quietness in tone, when we speak.
Reaching out and helping those who are weak!
Serenity is a key to happiness.
Tenderness, as soft as a teddy bear in the attic.
Understanding others as best we can
We are all part of the family of man.
Xenodochial, means being friendly to strangers.
Zany and fun filled, will keep your mind not
centered on danger.

a great prescription, Pangie!! I was trying to think what could be a positive H attribute. Maybe humility? This was a well thought out ABC poem

Humility is a positive for sure! I think poets got that point with Haughtiness is a sign of the weaK…LOL Thanks for taking the time to comment. This was one of the most difficult poems I ever wrote. The was not an ABC poem, but Abecedarian. They differ as you know. It also was combined with list and couplets. Feral cats are really thirsty these hot days. Elena gives them four fresh bowls of ware each day! Thank you. Pangie

Hi Bill, I was taking a break. And so dear soul, forgive a late response! I am shameless and agree with you on the power of this Abecedarian….I was amazed at how well it turned out, I honor and value you, your poetry and judgement highly. Hence, a FAV from you is an Oscar+! Gratefully, Panagiota xxx

Bellie, I just let the form guide me.and the thoughts fell in line. I said to Robert it was in couplet form…No it is not. Apologies. There are not equal syllables in each line. The last words rhyme. I love vocals from Gershwin or Cole Porter. Nothing extravagant,,,such simple words they used and created beauty. Panagiota thank you, dear one!

It reminds me of words Jesusspoke in the New Testament. It is by our works that they shall know us. And we shall reap what we sew. Appreciated the joyful write. Robert

What a fantastic comment. I don’t know how this came together…..This was my first poem using this form. It also was in couplets of all things. I’d like to try this again. Thank you for visiting, twice! I consider you a blessing from God. PS..yes, yes, we do reap what we sew! Panagiota XXX
