the words you speak

hurting you was never
in my plan
so the next time
you take my hand
remember this is me
you're talking to
not someone else
who brought pain to you
my only wish
is to make you happy
through all of the life, the love, the laughter
starting today and forever after
trust me now
and I won't let you down
seeing is believing
through your tears somehow
I pray this misunderstanding between us
will blow away and this love will never leave us
again to feel our hearts that broke
from these bitter words we both spoke
and together we can find a way
to share a smile another day
