Run For Your Lives

In the distance silence echoes
Fairness betrays its purpose
Salt watered lips aren't good for kissing
Life just sucks sometimes

I'm merely a shadow of my former self
There’s no escaping, its all in my head
Mentally barricading myself from the world
All of you gone

I would pray for you to seek me out
You wouldn't recognize me as I am
It matters not, my worth has vanished
Just because

Hard to comment on this one, except to wish you better, much better, days ahead. I relate somewhat. I struggle through two lost decades in much the same way you are.

Thank you, and thanks to everyone who has left comments. I appreciate the concern but the poems I've posted thus far were all written 14 to 16 years ago when I was in high school. I'll be sure put that as a footnote on future posts that were written during my years of angst. :-)

Ricky Its Sweet Pea AKA Robin This was a very deep and emotional write. You expressed some dark and scary feelings. I hope you are alright and these are just words put into a poem. Hugs
