rumbling through

sun peeks over the mountain
floods the valley
red, orange, pink
streams
slip through
cracked blinds
to kiss your skin
smooth sweet scent
of morning
frosts you
like a cupcake
an avian chorus
does not drown
crescendos of pleasure
flying high above
the growling diesel
rumbling through
stirring up life
in the valley

rising high
the sun
rains
promises
landing like butterflies
on leaves, rocks, roofs
and your cheek

breathe the morning
bathe in its light
cuddle in its kisses
its warmth
draped over you
joy radiates
from within
feel its fullness
its love
let it take
your darkness

the air tickles soft and soothing
while the sun slips in
and overwhelms you
to rouse you
from whatever
pummeling
promising only
another
pummeling

yet it's morning kiss
lands so sweetly
you greet gladly
the intruding light
life is fraught with
rising and falling
jostling to survive
and at the end of the day
you succumb
lying down
in full surrender
trusting fresh new light
to restore you
again and again

it sets
and rises
painting the world
with fiery beauty
spreading over mountains
flooding valleys
slipping through cracked blinds
to touch you
to tickle you awake
with a kiss
good morning, love
