Ruins of the Day

v.1 Reflections of theses things I need to hide
reaching down to my child inside
Can't ya feel the pain behind these eyes
Sorrow bleedin through a whole lifetime
Don't tell me that it's gonna be ok... it's just the Ruins of the Day

v.2 If I could start to feel inside
maybe life would be just a little kind to me
But everyday it seems just one more thing
is pushin my feelins to their bitter end
Don't tell me that it's gonna be ok... it's just the Ruins of the Day
Don't tell me heh, it's just the Ruins of the Day
Don't tell me heh, it's just the Ruins of my Day
Don't tell me heh, fallin away
I pray the Lord my soul to take

v.3 Now I just need a place to run and hide
till I make it to the other side
Misery loves it's company
I hope someday you'll all forgive me
Don't tell me that it's gonna be ok...it's just the Ruins of the Day
Don't tell me heh, it's just the Ruins of my Day
Don't tell me heh, it's just the Ruins of my Ways
Don't tell me heh, fallin away
I pray the Lord my soul to take
I pray Dear Lord...my soul to take

LOL ... I thought that I had read all your poems, and here I am reading one of your very first posted on Soup!! But I am sure I had already listened to this song way back (I listened to all yours). These sad lyrics give added life to the song. Well done! Wonder if you'll go back to singing again! ~ Warm regards // paul

Nice to know I still have 1 fan...lol...I still sing all the time, but now my audience is usually 4 footed! I wrote this when I had Alopecia and lost my hair years ago, but God was good to me and now you would never know, it all grew back :) have a great one Paul :) C.H.

I remember listening to this not that long ago....I did again and I enjoy it each time:) You have found 'what your meant to do' with writing, singing and caring for animals with nature inspiring all three:) I admire that about you, they really go beautifully together and I enjoy that you share your passions...thank you Chrisxxx

Thank you so much...yes it is sad, but I assure you I am "ok" I am thankful for pen and melody to see me through the sad times, that's where my best stuff comes from.
