Rug Nuggets

I spent all of yesterday
and most of the day before
picking up those rug nuggets
where they hadn’t been before.

I found one by the back door
and another by the chair
I saw some in the corner
and I see some over there.

I bend down to pick them up
until I’m nearly drained.
I surely will be happy
when this puppy’s potty trained!

Thanks Arlene, you are too kind. Fortunately I installed a doggy door that fixed everything. John

Lol I have to say, this is the first time I've ever heard them refer to as "rug nuggets" J.

Puppies will do that, hopefully it's nuggets and not diarrhea...it could be a little ruff at times training them (lol). Nicely done, John. Charlie

Hi Charlie, thanks for reading. At least once they get the idea it’s smooth sailing. Have a good one. John

Oh yeah… been there, done that, John, by which I mean ‘picked up’ not pooped on the rug (I haven’t done that for some weeks now). Pleased to add another name to Soup’s clan of Rhyme artists. Terry

John, This from a few months ago but I just found it, so funny I laughed out loud. I don't see anything recent. Are you okay? Elizabeth

Thanks for reading Elizabeth, it is much appreciated. No real problems, just a lack of ideas and such. Thanks for asking. Looking forward to reading more of your work. John

Ah, yes, the joys of being a puppy's papa. Lucky all he left you was "nuggets". No puddle prizes, as well? A fun read, John.

Seems to go on forever at the time then all of a sudden their trained. I like what you call the little gifts they leave us. Enjoyed your poem J. Emilia.
