Rubik's Cube Ball: Oxymoron

I've given thought to "What if Rubik's cube was round?" My answer might be considered to be somewhat profound Initially, my reaction was, "If it ain't broke don't try to fix it," but that would be a lame deduction, so I decided to nix it. Nearly fifty years ago, Erno Rubik created his colored cube Some people have tried to solve it by watching You tube but that defeats the purpose of the puzzle being a task So, would it be any easier if it were round, you now ask? My imagination zeroed in on the concept of that thought without a solution to my query, my mind was left wrought It was a point to ponder and trivial, to say the least... A spherical Rubik's cube made my brows furrow and crease. If dropped it would roll away to hide beneath the couch That's fine since trying to solve the thing makes me a grouch The name would have to be changed from cube to 'ball.' It'd make no sense to call a circle a cube; no sense at all. In fact, it would be an oxymoron; a contradiction to explain Ridiculous, since the braintease was driving me insane It would be harder to hold, and since a circle has no sides There'd be no possible solution and no instruction guides. I gave up on the idea of making Rubik's Cube in the round My brain refused to exercise any more ingenuity to expound On the notion, I'd already spent too much time transfixed I trashed the suggested shape change, and left it deep-sixed. 1/7/2021 If the Rubik's Cube Was Round Sponsored by Kai Michael Neumann

Thank you for the kudos, Mark. I didn't intend to write for this contest until the thought of Rubik's in the round was not feasible.

such clever rhyme on a very difficult theme. my son is a whizz at solving the cube but he is very logical in his thinking as for me I would be tempted to pick off the colours in frustration! This one should do well for you Jenna:-) hugs jan xx

Thanks a lot, Jan. Changing the color stickers is NOT a solution, Jan, but nice try. I haven't been able to solve it, and gave up long ago.
