Rubber Necking
Why are you slowing down?
Is it to make us all frown?
There’s an accident ahead,
and you had to turn your head.
What were you hoping for?
a little glimpse of blood and gore?
Were you hoping for a body or two,
arranged in plain view?
Why don’t you visit a mortuary,
where you can see the family’s misery?
You can see bodies torn to shreds,
and where vehicle parts embed.
You just had to slow the traffic,
with your curiosity so pathetic.
I hope you had a good look,
as death his victim took?
Why must you rubber-neck,
at the passing of a vehicle wreck.
