Royalty
Even folks that are not attracted to feet
say your feet are pretty.
Your neck is long and graceful
even those that don’t give a heck
about necks, say
your neck is long and graceful.
I could go on,
but let it be acknowledged that you
are a very well put together girl.
Some say you are the daughter of Zeus
but I am more a Neptune kind of guy
and your mother and I
know you were born in a Hospital in Islington, London.
Mum had low blood pressure -
you nearly killed her
as you made your way
to the surface of her ocean.
You grew up, more beautiful year after year.
Yesterday you phoned saying
you were losing your powers;
I had to inform you that being pregnant,
you were now ready to ascend to your celestial throne,
and that I do hope the new baby,
(even though the royal blood of a million interstellar gods
flows through my veins),
will not look a bit like me.
