Royal Mountains

(For Leonard)

A broken pen
Spills into darkness
Like a squid in peril
I'm deep in the well
Of its liguid flow
I'm at a place by his river
Dining on "tea and oranges"
Where honey and lust
Shine above his harbor
His songs of life and redemption
Like stones, ripple my time,
I'm washed by his wisdom
I'm an island in a river
Where his words still flow
He showed me the "garbage and the flowers"
And I saw the endless mirror
Reflect from his eyes
All the broken heroes
Lose their disguise
