Your imagery is fine; I see sunflowers guiding the queen's gardens now.

This is a poem that came to me out of thin air when I was looking at a painting with lots of sunflowers. I love sunflowers. They remind me of home...and apparently of Windsor Castle!

This is lovely in its simplicity. You created a story and visual masterpiece in such few words. Now I’m the one who is impressed.

It is a nice part of life to have a flower garden. We have flowers that bloom at different times here, but it is also a lot of work to take care of them. The royals get to see the results, but I wonder if they can really appreciate the work that goes into maintaining this art form. Hope you are well. It's also hard for us to take care of ourselves!!!

I hear you, Duke. I suppose there is satisfaction in seeing the results even if you didn't do the hard part. Thanks for your thoughtful and kind comments.

I like the simile, Milt. Queen is lucky to have such a flowery security detail!! Nicely done, Gershon

Thanks, Gershon. There was a picture in my hosp room of a sunflower farm, and I wanted to write about it and nothing developed except this little tanka. I'm glad you liked it.
