Rotation Without Witness

The root bends upward
where water forgets it was ever named
a stem splits into thought
leaves stitched with circles
inked before sight learned color

no soil
only suspension

figures rise from green breath
veins map the argument of heat
no mouths
yet something keeps being transferred

time is drawn sideways
stars mislabeled on purpose
rotation without witness

patterns repeat
until repetition forgets why

the page knows
what the reader cannot

meaning circles the text
like an animal that won’t enter
the trap it already survived

ink remains
obedient
silent
complete

Aarron, I like the last stanza very much which says ink is obedient. We as writers can make it say what we want to a certain extent. Thank you for sharing this one with us. Sara K
