Rosette Nebula In the cosmos where infinity shares enigmatic luminosity of stellar space there dwells a rose of divine grace. This Nebula in our Milky Way, bares a magic unseen by the naked eye in the darkness of our indigo sky. Five thousand light years from earthly cares in constellation Monoceros, the Unicorn, with enchanting ruby hues she does adorn. In radiation of her young star's flares her beautiful blossom, now Oklahoma's rose, the envy of this poet's rhyme or prose. 6-8-19 Nifty Named Nebula's Premier Poetry Contest Sponsor William Kekaula 8th Place The Rosette ~Second Place~ Strand Choice Q, any theme any form Poetry Contest Sponsor Brian Strand *Note On April 16, 2019 the Oklahoma Legislature passed HB1292 making the Rosette Nebula as the official state astronomical object. Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt signed it into law April 22, 2019.

Cool, I also like the added bit at the end. Oklahoma made an excellent choice. Now let’s hope the Judge does as well.

Wow the rosette nebula, very interesting for us, for its mentioned in our Holy book so I like to write about it but your poem is exceptionally brilliant and wow this had me so excited, nice to know the state adopted it as its state object. The poetic scientific description you gave just had me swaying in your praise. Kudos for presenting this intellectual astral verse. And your acknowledging it as divine grace just shows your noble great personality as well. Pls pleez do review/ comment my newest poem too.

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. I am familiar with all these objects. Your rhymes are intriguing and well constructed. I wrote one on the Owl Nebula but maybe messed up on the rules, or it was vague as usual. Neat contest, though.

Connie, if you were here--you'll have to settle with a bouquet of Hilo's orchids instead of a rosette--but you are truly worth every rose that there ever was, with the bouquet that you have overwhelming displayed for us here and that only eyes can deliver, and with that, I would like to add my personal heartfelt thanks for gracing your awesome rendering within this contest that was made possible by the PoetrySoup members, as a place to be solely recognized and honored by its community of fellow poets, Aloha always, William Kekaula

Thank you very much CayCay. This is a very busy month for me. I have my granddaughters here all the time along with my daughter before she moves to the Big Island in July. First the girls want my attention I don't have nearly enough time to spend on poetry but I want to enjoy them as much as I can before they leave. xxoo : )
