Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue

Roses are red, violets are blue, this flower bed, is just for you. Among the stone, and in the mud, a flower shone, a beautiful bud. It grew so tall, proud and strong, it learned all, right and wrong. Giving it water, and warm sun, your only daughter, learned about fun. Mommy come see, look what I did, now I can be, a grownup kid. This flower bed, is just for you, with roses, red, and violets, blue. Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

Thank you very much for the kind comments, Regina!.... That little verse was probably the first poem that we ever wrote, when we were kids. I just wanted to use it in a more mature way, now that I am older!

Thank you so much, Jan!.... Here in the U.S., Mother's Day usually falls somewhere in May. It is interesting how our holidays appear differently on the calendar from country to country!
