Roses and Diamonds

Feeling like a knife, cutting straight through my heart; her presence so near to me, my soul bleeds. All I want is to say hello, to hug her and know that she doesn't hate me, but I know she does. It's pointless, they all do. We make eye contact for a fleeting moment before we turn away. Bile rises in my throat, but I swallow it back down. The acid burns. I couldn't care less, she isn't here, She doesn't care anymore. Roses and Diamonds are deadly. Blood and clear, hard tears; That's all they are to me now, with their beauty masking their pain. They lie to me, When all I ask is for the truth.
