Rose Tinted Glass

I know you want me
To open up
Free myself
But darling -
Aren't I beautiful
Behind this rose tinted glass?
I've grown up in this prison
Built it myself
Made it glamorous and sparkling
Hoping all would ignore
The wretch
Locked inside
Here I've been
Trapped so long
I've forgotten
How to get out
Please -
Don't turn away!
Maybe you can be the one
To break through
The one to save me
Yet -
As you disappear
I can do nothing
You can't hear my cries
The glass is too thick
No one can see
Lonely tears
Streaming down my face
They are hidden
Behind this lovely
Rose tinted glass.
