Rose Moon

You write about flames and flickers,
fervent sparks that delicately touch,
the unseen parts of my conscience
in ways this quickening quill
can never express,
while you, the rose star,
lit across my homesick sky ~
sequined with sleepless sapphires,
coruscating in neon green,
sprinkling light upon my silhouette ~
      awakened gothic desires long buried…

For your pulse speaks like infatuated ink
to my muse-less mind,
in dialects deeper
than a poet’s mismatched metaphor ~
an ache, an addictive affection,
I crave to romanticize
with cursive calligraphy ~
           in silence and in solitude…

O soul-healer, heart-charmer,
you beckoned
the kingdom of darkness ~
where sins gleamed
in silver and saffron,
                numbing nightmares,
                calming chaos…
but now all that echoes
is the blind voice of an empty canvas,
heavy with hues of hurt,
filling it amidst hazy eyes
clouded with diamond tears ~
so forgive me as I wander
in the waking warmth
of a crestfallen sun,
with your rhymes on my lips,
your heat around my love,
my words across your dusk ~
your urges at the tips of my fingers,
my thoughts drifting
through the twilight tunnel
of your midnight music,
wading through lethal blue,
for I am a sea-storm,
disguised as lucid moonrise,
dressed in all forms
                 of your faultless poetry…

Hello Ink, Your compositional flare defies the english language to supply complementary adjectives and other qualifiers. I can only acknowledge the poetic colour, cinematic portraits, and intense emotional riches embedded in this work. I love “sequined with sleepless sapphires,” “the blind voice of an empty canvas,” “amidst hazy eyes clouded with diamond tears.” But I value each word.🔥🔥✨⭐ Your report into my lastest offering Shady etc I will cherish forever. Warmth and light, Howard

Always so many cool images. Like infatuated Ink, homesick sky of lethal blue. So clever, Sweetie. And thanks for my contest placement. I just love themes you give us

Turn the heat down, Ink Empress has spoken, and I think the moon is catching fire, how good is this one, the energy released in those last 15 lines or so grows exponentially into the declaration of you being the sea-storm, another top poem from a poet on top of her game, beautiful, cheers David

May we always appreciate the rose moon. I loved your poem. It has qualities of a painting but one whose colors are continually changing

I've dressed you in bone chips and strands of love helix, a contrast comemmorating the cries of a Tigress chained to a desire that she hunted for with a long tooth and pelt of moonlit fire, a whetstone of soul spun to grind the age of jaded heart away, we have not found an artifact of passion handled by many before, you and I have made a truth that Amazons and sages can only admire, a poetic pulse that pronounces a pounce of life in raw champion cipher...J.A.B.

Your poem is powerful. The subject is addressed as a "soul-healer" and "heart-charmer" who helps the speaker navigate a "kingdom of darkness" and "calming chaos". A profound romantic bond acts as a light in the darkness. So well written.

I’ve been meaning to tell you about the quality of your alliteration. Some use it too profusely, as if they just plucked words beginning with the same letter from a dictionary. You though, choose words that relate to the subject theme if your poetry. You’ve used it brilliantly in your first verse. Honestly, there are moments when I think a bit too many but that’s just my thoughts and I hope you’ll find it in your heart to forgive me. If not, you can beat me up in your comments on my next post. ;-)

Being an editor does not make one a poet. That title is borne from heartfelt emotions and experiences, either suffered or dreamed.

Oh gawd. Now I’m sorry to have even brought it up if it reminded you of those two. lol. I take it back. Write in your style and never let anyone talk you into changing. Here ya go… your ink spills as iridescently as indigo illuminations. How’s that?

Awwn its ok we both have different ways of expressing, i dont really try and alliterate, i think i might alliterate also the rhythm of my beloveds heartbeat with hopeless hibiscus hallelujah’s , its how my brain works. However, iv been told this before, you are not the first person. I remember TW, used to always say that in comments plus another female poet here on soup i dont want to mention, she advised on toning down alliterations too, constantly, but it didnt work much. Hahah. Theres nothing to say against ur poetry! U shine always! Shine on! Sending you light always!
