Rose Ladies

Rose Ladies

Lovely ladies, Tiggywinkles, to my garden return
Good as Gold after absence from winter’s sojourn

Shirley’s Bouquet – blue tipped rose acclaimed
American Beauty a winner proclaimed

Spicy perfumes from Brandy - First Love -
Calls Whisper out - petals of white like mourning doves

Midas Touch gown glows bright as Sugar Moon
Queen Mother, Sunburst in Carousel swoons

Ketchup and Mustard ready for a Garden Party
Hot Cocoa in Sterling Silver served up so smartly

The Dark Knight looks out for purple Intrigues
Neptune on guard coming from twenty leagues

Swan ladies so graceful tell of Sutter’s Glory
See constellations and pale Virgo’s story

Olympiad sighs for races with stallions
Gold, silver, Bronze Star – precious Medallions

Shares Anna’s Promise, Tiffany’s First Prize
As Just Joey and Blue Girl in Iceberg fantasize

With Peace they arrive, some in Tropicana dress
A Double Delight, Mr. Lincoln, to beauty confess.

These are the roses that grace, and have graced, my garden with a few minor exceptions.

Thank you Seeker! We have over twenty five rose bushes. When they are in bloom the fragrance is absolutely enchanting - something to look forward to every year. Sounds like you also love roses. Hope you are well. Blessings to you.

Heartfelt gratitude dear friend for your note of congratulations! Thank you! So fun that we share a love of roses. My grandmother taught me a love of roses. Just found a new one - Shirley's Bouquet -edged in light blue! Can't wait for it to bloom. Do you have a favorite rose? Have fun in your garden. Blessings and hugs! :)

Thank you Sara! Besides the craft store, my garden, especially the rose garden, is my happy place! You are so right - when the weather warms I see a rainbow of blooming color with an unimaginable fragrance. Do you like to garden? Thank you for your visit. Blessings of spring to you!

What a luscious list of lissome ladies - I don't know much about flowers, are they the names of breeds? (American Beauty is the only one I've heard of) Purple Intrigue is probably my favorite for the mystery it inspires - should take the blue ribbon :)

Thank you so much my friend! All the capitalized names are the names of rose varieties. Intrigue is a deep purple-magenta rose with the most wonderful spicy perfume. It was fun to put my rose garden into a poem! Thanks for sharing it with me. All the best!
