Roots

He spoke with a lisp 
he whispered and he sighed....

He sighed.... freedom...

The trees upended their branches 
the roots clasped his throat
his bulging eyes and his body limp
blood dripped from his mouth

Magnolia kissed his lips
and sucked his bitter nectar....
