Notes About The Poem

A Triolet to Make My Day, Andrea Dietrich, 6/23/2026

Romantic Sunrise-triolet

I long to ink the sunrise pink, whilst heeling tall on sailboat deck. I drink the blue impassioned drink. I long to ink the sunrise pink, Coerce the sun with brilliant wink, Infuse the dawn with fluid peck. I long to ink the sunrise pink, whilst heeling tall on sailboat deck.

So interesting, Kim, how you made heeling on a sailboat deck sexy (I had to look up heeling and I didn't know it could be used in reference to boating!). I really loved your wording in the other lines. A very romantic sunset indeed. Congrats on your win

Perfectly beautiful! Wow. Great imagery and sense. Love it! Love the ocean as well. My great-grandpa was captain of a tall ship in the Mediterranean. Went down with his ship during a storm. Old tradition.
