Rocking Chair
The rush of life does disappear
in the steady cadence of a rocking chair
when out the window I do stare
at life unjaded, quiet and spare.
As I rock I see lovely lines
flowers uplifted, tendrils on vines
birds a flutter sing songs from on high
time is captured in my mind's eye.
