Robin's Inkwell Mysteries:The Chrono- Chime of Stoneridge Manor
The mystery began in
Stoneridge Manor's damp,
decaying mold,
Where a dust- covered music
box sat, centuries old.
Its silver crank turned on its
own with a ghostly, rhythmic
chime,
Plucking a haunting melody
that fractured space and
time.
In a flash of blinding light, the
antique vanished clean away,
Leaving only scorch marks
where it once securely lay.
For decades, the box
traveled through the ages
like a ghost,
Appearing to historical
figures when they needed
guidance most.
It materialized in Victorian
London, then a jazz- age
cabaret,
Before slipping forward into
a neon- lit future, miles away.
Each sudden jump left
historians baffled by the
physical trace,
Of a modern metal object
frozen out of time and place.
The confounding riddle was
finally solved by a curious
engineer,
Who tracked the box's
chronicles frequency until the
truth was clear.
Hidden inside the velvet
lining, behind a false steel
plate,
Sat a complex microscopic
clockwork that dictated its
fate.
The mansion's original
clockmaker had built a
temporal gear,
Programmed to loop his
favorite song through every
passing year.
By jamming the master dial
with a slender silver pin,
The investigator locked the
gears, trapping the magic
within.
