Robin Red Breast

>>>>>>>>>>>>>When i walked out my door today, The first thing i did see. Was a young Robin Red Breast , There sitting in my tree. He fluffed up this feathers, As he hopped from branch to branch. Its a sure sigh of spring, Out here on the ranch. The little Robin was singing, As he stared my way. Then he flew over my head, To the bird feeder by the hay. He sat there awhile, As he picked at the seeds. Had a drink from the water tray, That should cover his needs. I went to get my camera, To take a picture to keep. Of the first Robin of spring, Their song is so sweet.

Thank you for allowing me onto your ranch so I could view this cheerful, red fellow! My mother used to say robins were the first signs of spring, and you capture her thoughts well in you great poem. Love, Carolyn

Early morning captures beauty undisturbed. This must be close to your heart. A sign of first spring makes light a time for fresh air. Thanks. Jan

I loved the child like sweet quality of this verse. I can hear a Dad or Mom reading it to their child. I can see the illustration. Getting a consistant regular meter going would help the verse. Go for 8 in line 1 & 3, and 6 in line 2 & 4. You can do that very easily; then read it outloud. See what you think? Light & Love
