Notes About The Poem

Roads

The roads we walk
have demons beneath*
hidden deep within the concrete,
a world where nightmares roam
and the unknown lurks in the shadows
of our doubt and we walk on
wary in the valley of darkness.

We walk on knowing there is light
beyond the mire and the muck
and the strife of life; the guiding star,
leading us out of the shadows
that seek to keep us blind
and hidden with the demons
beneath the roads we walk.

A poem that is enjoyable and hard punching. The guiding star is the rescuing hero, it appears. The seven lines creates an interlocking train of thoughts that captured my interest. Many thanks.
