The roads we walk have demons beneath* hidden deep within the concrete, a world where nightmares roam and the unknown lurks in the shadows of our doubt and we walk on wary in the valley of darkness. We walk on knowing there is light beyond the mire and the muck and the strife of life; the guiding star, leading us out of the shadows that seek to keep us blind and hidden with the demons beneath the roads we walk. *Mycroft Holmes, The Final Problem, Sherlock S4 E3, BBC, 2017

A captivating and soulful poem...I appreciate the introspective nature of the first verse acknowledging the existence of our dark side while the last verse offers up hope with the guiding star. Your poem spoke to me. Grateful for it; faving.

A poem that is enjoyable and hard punching. The guiding star is the rescuing hero, it appears. The seven lines creates an interlocking train of thoughts that captured my interest. Many thanks.
