Road Trip To Freedom

As soon as I get this done I’m going to Freedom
As soon as I finish this work I’m going to Freedom
There’s always more to get done
There’s always less time for fun
How am I gonna get on the road to go to Freedom?

The work is never gonna be done to go to Freedom
How am I gonna get it all done to go to Freedom?
                          We all need a break
It’s not given, we gotta take
That’s the day that I hit the road to go to Freedom

I finally figured out a way to go to Freedom
I figured out how to get to Freedom
You see, Freedom’s not a place
To escape the human rat race
Freedom is a way to be and I’m in Freedom

A state of mind, not a place, that is Freedom
We all can hit the road and go to Freedom
                           Just an attitude adjustment
And a mind set you have busted
Before you know it, you’re livin’ high in Freedom

I stopped by to read some more of your poetry today Lucinda. I enjoyed reading it and will be back again another time to read more. Love, Carol
