Road Trip

Remaining time on our holidays we headed for
Ontario. It was the hottest of hot days
And sweat poured off our skins like it was dry
Desert heat upon the earthly sands

Throwing our air conditioner to full throttle we
Realized that we had chocolate bars in the back seat
In this heat they melted right inside the wrappers
Pretty soon we felt like we were melting inside our skin

note--it was 42 C everyday that week we were gone. 
Not an enjoyable road trip

I just hate when my chocolate gets melted and I certainly don't like being in the heat. Sounds like a miserable trip, Phyllis, but great job writing about it. Thank you for supporting my contest and congrats on your win! Love, Kim

Nice poem. Sorry you had to go through all that. I have been through some pretty bad road trips myself. Here in Texas gets pretty hot too. we had 100 and more degree weather. Right now , I'm happy. we are expecting some rain for the next few days. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest..... Lucilla
