Riverbed Fools

San Diego Riverbed, our home.
It has an allure for total fools.
Homeless people who are not allowed.
We risk jail to stay near her water.
To toxic to drink unless treated.
A lovely place to live, no rent due.
We create communities that work.
Together we must play cat and mouse.
The police our only predators.
A task force of eight hunt hard for us.
The game played by our rules for now.
They are winning and the loss cuts deep.

a slice of the life of riverbed 'fools' impressively expressed here ... both sigh and smile sprout in my mind ...
