River Dock

Sun beaming along the stream
      reflection at its finest
Early morning clouds on this
      day--when everything made sense
Your window opened and I
      came through the fire
To rescue you from yourself
With love by the river dock

Wow, this was so cool Trisha. Very descriptive and a creative way of expressing your thoughts. I really love the picture this creates in my mind. I just read an article this morning about the riverfront in NYC and how it is changing and how it was before. It may not have been the setting you had in mind when you wrote this, but your poem took me there.

Actually, it's funny you say that because when I wrote the poem, I had a river in my mind but not a specific one. Then one day, I was in Manhattan, and I was at Poet's House on River Terrace. I was overwhelmed with the serenity and beauty of the river and thought of this poem.
