Notes About The Poem

Rising Still

Rising Still

Like the tide during days of spring
with a subtle gentle breeze.
You will find I'm rising still
though I'm down on my knees.

Asking God to see me through
whatever comes my way.
Sending angels, come to me.
These are the things I pray.

Like never ending water
and waves out in the sea.
Help me to help others
is all I ask of thee.

Giving sight unto the blind
to see the things now hid.
Help me to help others
the way that Jesus did.

Let them see the light within
God give me light to shine.
Let me be for them today
the water turned to wine.

For the many broken now
that somehow lost their way.
Grant me gifts to give to them
in words that I might say.

Let them see the You in me
when life tears at their will.
And let them see the You in me
when they see me rising still.

This would look marvellous framed in the porch of every Church in Christendom, Edwin. A fine little prayer. Merry Christmas! Regards, Viv
