Rising From Failures

From failures after pity party, I rise, upheld by God’s mercy*
     Directed toward faith-performance ascent
          Pressing on, vanquishing doubts.

          Fervently following biblical instruction
     I strive against frustration-pulls
Overcoming distresses caused by pity party.

Allowing not my spirit to wallow in misery
Midst desperation-attacks, I persist after pity party
While the Lord steers me upward.

*Psalm 33:22 Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.
