Rip

The heat of sand on my feet And grinding in my toes The sounds of the ocean waves Crashing against the shore A cold drink in hand Wet with perspiration The clinking of ice cubes As it reaches my lips The scent of the ocean breeze Embraces my nostrils Memories of a lifetime Can fill a broken heart And last a lifetime While I take a moment To drink to yours.
