Ring In the New Year

I look to the new year
with a sense of hope
determination to do better
address the goals that I neglected
knowing as years advance
I only get so many restarts
I wield the power to upgrade
to readjust priorities
wipe last year’s slate
and start anew
I make my list and 
and back it up 
with concrete strategies
hold my head high
ready to launch the new year
