Notes About The Poem

Riding the Clouds -Sara Kendrick

It seems that a weak sun is trying to penetrate my cloud~

A cloud so heavy filled with moisture it drips steadily
Black ominous, not described as light and fluffy so hey you get off my cloud

For the swallows dart about through the damp thickness like bats who fly at night

Let's try to make my cloud go away

Don't let it stay, clear it for future generations

This cloud will engulf the wildest teen

A cloud of destruction for our future generations

How can our youth survive what has been placed around them

A steady availability of illegal substance

A diet that is totally unhealthy

             Violent games on gaming systems

Teaching of right removed from the schools

My cloud is heavy, chilling, swirling, damp, penetrating the core of society

                          Citizens what can we do?

Remember Rome did not fall in a day internal decay ate away its foundation

A cloud of decay is consuming our precious society

What can we do to redeem our future?

Think it through what can we do__

Worthy thoughts to contemplate this Sunday. Many outside forces are trying to destroy the core of the society - the family. A 7. Enjoy your weekend, Sara!

Powerful thought provoking write Sara. I wonder what the clouds will look like in another 100 years. Good luck in the contest. Hugs

Very powerful piece Sara...What was once wrong is now right, the cloud grows darker each day as morality slips away...
