Riddles of Birth

Why had he come
to New York
from where he
originated in the void?
Why was he Jewish?
Why not some other place?
The present, what is that?
Why not some other time?
So much about him
is lost because he never knew,
never learned. Consciousness
is such a strange bestowal.
