Rice Fields

Couds of gloomy white
Silent water changed colours
Between fresh green paddy

The women in muddy water
Planting rice for a new harvest

Wolken in strahlendem Weiß
Stilles Wasser im Farbwechsel
Dazwischen frische Pflanzen

Frauen im lehmigen Wasser
Pflanzen Reis für die neue Ernte

Images of the Orient prevail in your poem, Gert. Have you been there? Can't imagine what it feels like to spend the day wading through the muddy water, but I sure do love rice. Thank you for giving us such great imagery. Love, Carolyn

Sounds like a picture I saw in a movie, except it was in China and the women where in muddy water picking rice, or something like that. Well done enjoyed..p.d.
