Rhapsodic Freedom
The remnants of the castle I had built
with the silver sands of my dormant dreams,
sank at the bleak bottom of breaking waves
in the stormy sea of wrecking strife.
Emerging free out of the distressed debris,
as I paced my pensive life on the reverie plateau,
in the fantasy realm of aspiration I grew wings,
soared to silver-lined cloud in the seamless sky.
Looking far I found a golden nest in the thicket,
with a sense of pride I entered enthralled.
It turned into a cage, I couldn’t spread my wings,
confined with stifled free will, I forgot how to sing.
Impelled by the wind whispering the spring sonata,
I broke open the cage to flee from the gilded trap,
escaped the captivity of glorified prison to fly again
in the boundless sky in the air of rhapsodic freedom.
