Reverie

If everything we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream
You're a dream I'd fool myself
To keeping.
Ever have my bleary eyes seen
A waking dream, a waking dream
Sweet reverie haunts my wake
And sleeping.
A lucid fancy, a clever scheme
This fading dream, this fading dream
Flit you by swifter than dreams
Are fleeting
Yet truer thee than ever been
This falsest dream, this lying dream!
True as my love, and my heart
That's beating
For as all things ne'er what they seem
And you truly naught but a dream
I am fool and you're dream
Worth keeping.
