Returning Home

They march to songs
                                           I didn't sing.
                                       and left behind a youth,
                                          I couldn't leave.

                                       Returning home,
                                          those stares of
                                        endless pains, of acts
                                             never taught.

                                        I'll never know those stories,
                                          that changed their being,
                                             never to be retold,
                                         out loud to others
