return to sender
dear sea …
let the sun and moon
spill your wave-top treasure into
the coffers of my being -
gold coins a-shimmering in day
silver doubloons in night -
let that be my
wealth …
dear wind …
please kiss my
cheek with the embers of the seasons -
the crisp of autumn and
bite of snow …
the sweet of blossoms
and the radiant flutter of July
let them be my
whims …
dear woodlands …
may your verdant boughs
and lush, biotic breath enfold me -
hold me close in the mysteries of your
shadowed heart …
and the bounty of your bosom
(countless eyes attending)
let them be my
desires …
dear highlands …
please offer me your
solitude and peace - spread your
heathered lace about
my feet, frosted majesty above
as your rills dance with the music
of the amaranthine …
let them all be the intrinsic
elements of my
spirit …
dear heavens …
your keen, quiet,
immeasurable vastness trembles
with the truths of life and
perils of passion …
that sea of suns scribbles a name and
a tome for each of us -
it’s dust is our essence and id
and our eternity proves its breadth …
let that ocean of awe and
ample immutability be
the tapestry for my …
dreams.
