Return to Self

Return to Self
Welcome, lost soul in the labyrinth of time,
I find you in the twilight's mirror, sipping from the chalice of memories,
Drops of old wine trickle on the lips of memory,
Waking me into a radiant dusk, just as it is,
Caressed by the pure madness that ignites
A dance, a whirlwind with the playful breeze of existence.
I sink into the evening mist, like in a velvet embrace,
While gestures towards others drain my essence,
Like a worn-out machine, the gears of the soul turn ever slower,
My precious time melts away, killed by my own kindness...
Now, my days taste the cherry of life,
Savoring forgotten passions and pleasures once denied...
Yes, it's all because nurturing the self
Resounds loudly: buy that violet lipstick,
Paint the moon with enchanted eyes... throw yourself into a sinful party
And ride the carousel of total abandon!
For my heart runs bare,
It needs to be fed with the rhythm of jazz
Without regrets. So I will smile at my body
And set everything aside for a while, for true love
Begins with me, lifting this soul on a halo of fire --
A living flame that dances in the night of my reborn consciousness.
