Retracing Our Steps To Find Our Lost Generation
in this world of fatal attractions and demonic temptations
we must retrace our steps to find our lost generation
in the grand scheme of life God gave us each a purpose or task
and we need to find that special gift in order to do what He has asked
we're all precious to Him and with each of us God broke the mold
and when He loses any one of us He desires we'd be returned back to the fold
yet the generation of today has become negative in mind
the media portrays them as being thugs of all kinds
nothing about them is positive for they seem to be all about self
and it's up to as adults to help restore their spiritual health
where would we be ourselves if our own parents did not have our backs
we're in part responsible for the next generation falling off the right track
we were too busy climbing up the corporate ladder to keep them in place
we turned our sheep a loose and did not stay on their case
we stopped reading with them, praying for them and left them on their own
and now we have a bunch of rebellious kids who think that they are grown
a lost generation out in the wicked wilderness
caught up in the world of violence and willfulness
it's up to us as parents to take on the responsibility
and go out into the wilderness and bring them back to safety
we must retrace our step and remember the last time
we thought of ourselves as a flock, a community of one mind
we started thinking as individuals and went out to do our own thing
and in the midst of our selfishness our children did the suffering
we were too busy to teach them to take responsibility
we were too busy to teach them to respect authority
we must retrace our steps and go back to that time
when we were the most important thing on our own parent's minds
now is the time to get down on our hands and knees and get right with God
and hope that we can instill in our children a righteousness of heart
so pray for the youth, pray for yourself and pray for everyone's salvation
pray that Jesus the Great Shepard can retrace our steps and save our lost generation
