Retired

Retired

melting slowly
into the world
spreading visibility into
gleaming pools
after a rain.

small onyx eyed birds
surround the rolling edges
dip and ruffle wings,
bath like Grecian goddesses
in a woodland bower.

Sprites and spirits watch
to learn the secrets of
simplicity
life afforded them
now the worshippers are gone.

Reading it slowly it comes to me. This is GREAT artistry. The feelings you invoke are stupendous. Its also a match with mine Punctuated in Time. Mine was outrage, yours quietly lingers and is much more eloquent and ... it touches the inside oh so gently

You see these things as they are meant to be seen. Great depiction, wish more people could see the world of nature through the same eyes. Enjoyed this poem. Regards, Craig
